2017 Banquet

Sta. 89 had our banquet on the paddleboat from the Suicide Bridge Restaurant to Cambridge and back. We had a great meal , drinks a super fellowship. One of the finest banquets we have ever had. After our dinner all went on top of the boat to look at the beautiful scenery. On the way back we all went back down to the dining room for a short awards presentation. We had several who could not attend that were to receive awards and will at our next meeting. They are- 5 years Britt Deese Jason Tucker Jon Lobiando 15 years- Russell Johnson 25 years- Darin Albright 30 years- Billy Smith Those that were in attendance to receive awards were 30 years, Bobby Chalmers, 40 years, Donald Peterman and 50 years for John Caldwell. State Rep. Harvey Kenton and Sen. Gary Simpson presented John his award. This year our Treasurer has served 20 straight years and has done a tremendous job for our FD and Chief Jester presented Bill Tobin with a White Presentation Helmet as TREASURER EMERITUS. Very well beserved Our last and best award went to one of the most dedicated firefighters we have ever had in the last 21 years he has driven our ambulance. more than 99% of our alarms. Don Evans changes his own schedule to make sure he is available to drive our ambulance. His dedication is second to none in our State. He is a great asset in all areas of our FD and is very well respected by all. We congratulate Don and all who received awards tonight and are very grateful for all their dedication. On the ride home the black bus was entertained by Deputy Chief Walls. Good time had by all. Great job Chief. Our invited guests were, State Fire Marshal Grover Ingle and wifie Pam, DVFA President Ted Walius and Daughter, Sussex County Volunteer Firefighters Association President Charlie Arnold and wife Erika, IAFC Eastern Division Immediate Past President Bill Betts and wife Louise. We had Senator Gary Simpson and Representative Harvey Kenton aboard also. They are both Honorary Members of the Memorial Fire Company and are great members and assets.
