Saturday September, 17 2011
Nature: 87th Annual Delaware Volunteer Firefighters’ Association Parade
Address: Dover, Delaware
On Saturday, September 17th, the Memorial (Station 89) and Indian River (Station 80) fire companies and their respective members jointly participated in the 87th Annual Delaware Volunteer Firefighters’ Association (DVFA) Parade to memorialize the tenure of the out-going presidential officer – William F. Tobin, Jr.
William F. (Bill) Tobin, Jr. currently is a member of the Memorial (Slaughter Beach) Fire Company (Station #89) and the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company (Station #80). Both organizations felt it was a fitting response to recognize the professional diligence and dedication of Bill’s tenure to jointly collaborate our efforts and march in the 87th Annual event.
Both organizations have not marched in the Annual DVFA Convention Parade in at least 25 years and were truly honored to participate and recognize the leadership qualities of their outgoing DVFA President – William F. Tobin, Jr.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Memorial Fire Company also participated in the parade’s activities and marched as well. The Memorial Ladies Auxiliary were recognized with an awarding winning performance during the parade event as well.
