On Tuesday August 17, 2021, at approximately 1126 hours, the Memorial Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Wells Road.It was reported to be a single vehicle into a pole with an 18 year old male out of the vehicle. Fire Chief Hopkins 85-15 ( Milton Fire Department) was the first to arrive on the scene and assumed command until the arrival of Command 89. Ambulance A-89 went on scene and started patient assessment. Command 89 with Assistant Chief Walt Reynolds arrived on scene and assumed 89 command. 89-2 responded with a crew of 4 under the direction of Chief Engineer Chris Hayes. Upon their arrival, they were advised to secure the pick-up truck. A-89 transported one male patient to Bayhealth Sussex as a trauma alert. DEC was notified of the pole damage and was requested to respond to the scene. Assistant Chief Reynolds 89-16, placed the incident under control. The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police and DEC.
