The Memorial Fire Company, family and friends have lost one of our finest member. Robert was a 52 year member of the Memorial Fire Company and was one of a strong group who helped build our fire company into a very good and proud department of volunteers. In the past few years Robert had backed down from his participation and enjoyed his retirement. When he was active he rarely missed an alarm and was mainly an Engineer and Asst. Fire Chief. His firefighting knowledge was tremendous and had the knack to get everyone to work together and get the job done. From his job at Playtex as a superior machinist he made many items to either fix the equipment or to build firefighting tools. If we could think of it, he could make it. Robert loved his family, fire company and friends dearly and would always be ready to tell a story or to listen to one. He will be missed greatly. RIP Asst Fire Chief and Life Member Robert Roach.
