Wednesday January, 4 2012 @ 08:00:31 Nature: Structure Fire Address: Church Rd., Milford, DE 19963 On Wednesday, January 4th, the Memorial, Milton and Ellendale fire companies were alerted for working structure on Church Road in the vicinity of Argo’s Corner near Slaughter Beach. Additional resources were requested from Sussex County Paramedics, as well as Lewes, Georgetown and Carlisle fire companies. Initial incident reports identified a residential location fully involved. The operational activities included sector assignments, such as: incident command, fire suppression operations, water supply operations, staging apparatus operations, rehab operations, traffic control operations, overhaul operations, and various other tasks. Fire suppression crews were actively engaged in ventilation and suppression activities with significant difficulty due to the multiple stages and types of construction with the residential structure. The American Red Cross was alerted and provided assistance to the occupants of the residential structure. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
